August 28th meeting

On August 28th MEMSplit group meeting was held. The main topic of this meeting was theoretical research and modeling of ultrasound probes used in ophthalmology. This research includes a masters thesis done by student Toni Vrdoljak at Faculty of Science, University of Split. After the meeting Marko Budimir, PhD and prof. Ante Bilusic, PhD, visited the building at the University of Split campus where MEMSplit project laboratory should be established very soon.

Meeting Jun 19th 2015

On June 19 2015 MEMSplit team met at the Faculty of Science, University of Split. The main topic of this meeting was selection of convenient polymers for phased array ultrasound probes and chemical manipulation of those polymers. INETEC team members  Marko Budimir, Nikola Pavlović, Petar Mateljak and Ivan Vican were present. The meeting ended by equipment acquisition report given by project coordinator Ante Bilusic. Tasks for the following month were also discussed.

Meeting May 8th 2015

On May 8th 2015 at the Faculty of Science, University of Split MEMSplit group meting took place. Team members discussed the course of the project and milestones reached so far. In accordance with the previous meetings, team members gave talks about their assigned topics. Talks were given by: Tonći Čakarić, Zvone Domazet, Tonko Garma, Lucija Krce and Toni Vrdoljak.

Meeting Mar 25th 2015

On March 25th 2015. another meeting of MEMSplit team was held. As usual, the meeting started with a presentation about project implementation time table held by prof. Bilusic, project coordinator. After this, individual assignments were given to project team members. Given tasks included detailed literature study of certain topics regarding future development of the project and MEMS technology application for different purposes. Assigned topics were:

  • technology of surface acoustic wave – topic given to Tonko Garma
  • theoretical boundaries of ultrasound phased array probes with ferroelectric/piezoelectric thin films – topic given to prof. Zupanovic
  • polymers appropriate for delay line of surface acoustic wave sensors – topic given to Magdy Lučić Lavčević

Meeting Mar 23rd 2015

Third meeting of MEMSplit project team was held on March 23rd 2015. Purpose of this meet was an insight into theoretical preparation for surface acoustic wave sensor production made thus far. The meeting was started by prof. Bilusic’s report about the course of project and future activities and assignments. Individual assignments were given to project team members. Given tasks included detailed literature study of certain topics regarding future development of the project and MEMS technology application for different purposes. Assigned topics were:

  • ultrasound of the eye and the skin – topic given to Lucija Krce
  • assessment/testing of quality of agricultural soil – topic given to Tonći Čakarić
  • assessment/testing of soil pollution  – topic given to Zvone Domazet
  • physics of surface acoustic wave and phased array probes – topic given to Toni Vrdoljak

Meeting Feb 6th 2015

Second meeting of MEMSplit project group was held on Friday 6th of February 2015 at the Faculty of Science, University of Split. Purpose of this meet was detailed preparation for study of theory behind surface acoustic wave sensors. Several talks were held by team members. Prof. Bilusic, project coordinator, began the meeting by presenting future plans and time schedule for MEMSplit project. Zvonimir Domazet, project team member, held a talk about application of thin films in microelectromechanical systems. Tonko Garma’s lecture about forming microstructures on thin films followed. Prof. Zupanovic held the last talk. He talked about thermodynamics of dielectric systems.

Every lecture inspired a vivid discussion. The meeting was finished after all team members discussed further project steps.

Kickoff meeting Dec 16th 2014.

Kickoff meeting of MEMSplit project was held on December 16 2014 at the northern tower hall of the University library in Split. Talks were given by project coordinator prof. Ante Bilušić, representative of INETEC company Marko Budimir, PhD and project administrator  Ivan Golub. The meeting gathered members of scientific community and Split-Dalmatia county representatives.
