It is one of the oldest stations on the Adriatic and was founded in December 1929 by the Geophysical Institute in Zagreb, the predecessor of today\u2019s Department of Geophysics at the Faculty of Science in Zagreb (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmf.unizg.hr\/geof\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GFZ<\/a>). Today, the station is operated by the GFZ, which is located about 150 kilometres from the station (inland). The station is a typical coastal station with a float instrument installed above a stilling well.<\/p>\n<p>More details about the station and the activities carried out there can be found on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmf.unizg.hr\/geof\/en\/research\/oceanography\/tide-gauge_station_bakar\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.17882\/85171\">hourly <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.17882\/85171\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sea levels<\/a> recorded at Bakar are publicly available in the SEANOE database under the CC-BY-NC licence.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ioc-sealevelmonitoring.org\/station.php?code=baka\" target=\"_blank\">1-minute sea levels<\/a> recorded by radar sensors are publicly accessible in the IOC database.<\/p>\n<p>Everything about the data, maintenance of the instruments\/station, regular checks, etc. can be found in <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.15233\/gfz.2022.39.8\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\">Me\u0111ugorac et al.
